Registering the printer with Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY from Android

Follow the steps below to register the printer with Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY 
Important
  • If you have a wireless router, connect your smartphone to the wireless router.
  • If you don't have a wireless router, enable Wi-Fi on the smartphone's Wi-Fi settings screen.
  • For operation, refer to the manual that came with the smartphone or wireless router, or contact the manufacturer of the smartphone or wireless router.
At this stage, the description is based on the screen shown when using Android 8.1
NB
"The displayed screen may vary depending on the smartphone".

1. First make sure the printer is turned on.
2. Start the application.
NB
"The license screen appears on initial startup".
3. If the following screen appears, click Yes, and then follow the onscreen instructions to connect the printer to the network.
After the network connection is complete, go to step 12.
If the next screen does not appear, proceed to the next step.

4. Click [Printer List] at the top left of the screen.
Printer detection starts.
NB
  • Discovery may take a while.
  • If the printer is not detected even though the network connection is complete, make sure the printer is connected to the same wireless router as the smartphone.
5. Click on the printer name that appears.

If the printer does not appear, go to step 7.

6. Make sure the printer appears at the top of the screen.
When the registered printer is visible at the top of the screen, setup is complete. No need to perform the steps below.
NB
The following screen appears only when the printer is registered.


7. Click if the printer cannot be found.
NB
If the following screen appears, click OK, and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to the network.
After the network connection is complete, then go to step 12.

8. Click Auto Connect [recommended].

9. Click "No".


10. Set up printer connection.
To set up the connection, see the guide.

11. Select Confirm that the printer is ready. check the box, then click "Next".
Follow the onscreen instructions to connect the printer to the network.

12. Make sure the printer appears at the top of the screen.


When the registered printer appears at the top of the screen, setup is complete.
If the following screen appears, make sure the printer name is displayed.
If the printer name is displayed, perform setup again from step "5"; Otherwise, skip to step "7".
NB
The following screen appears only when the printer is registered.


Printing Using Applications
1. Start the application.
2. Tap Select "Image".
"Notes"
Select Image appears only when registering the printer. "If Select Image doesn't appear", tap "Print Photo".
3. Select the image you want to print, then tap "Next".
4. Specify the printer to use, paper size, and other settings.
5. Tap "Print".
Printing starts with the specified settings.
